Weeds

Installation works
Date of work: 2004-
Medium: mixed media (seeds, water in each places)
Dimensions: size variable
Description:
"Weeds" is an installation work, covering the biological life cycle from sprouting to growth to death. I trace the cycle: collecting, carrying, seeding, and watching. Then, I collect seeds from the plants that I have just watched complete the cycle.
Although each installation work is an independent piece, it is also a part of the series that I continue everyday, collecting, carrying, seeding, watching and collecting the seeds again.
I would like to plant the seeds here, seeds I collect from many other places on earth, then collect the different seeds again bringing them to some other place, planting them, and watching them grow again. And so the cycle will continue.

"Weeds"

Once I found weeds growing in an unfamiliar place. Seeing the weeds, I slowly thought that this is just a place where the weeds are able to live. Naturalness or lack thereof, is merely my site of the view. When the seeds arrive to at any place, I cannot determine whether they should grow or not. I do not create anything special nor do anything special. I only plant seeds and watch.
